A commissioned piece for a 50th birthday present. The cottage has special memories for the recipient.

This is a commission for a family who wanted some original artwork for their bathroom. They wanted something different, away from the ever popular boating/lighthouse-type scenes. It features a variety of stylised shell shapes, using earthy colours. The ‘row’ format takes slight inspiration from vintage educational posters, whilst still keeping a trendy look.

album cover commission

This is an album cover commission I was working on a few weeks ago, for a lovely man’s 50th birthday. The Clash are one of his favourite bands. Something really different for me, and one of the hardest projects! Challenging mostly because it was in black and white and I had to copy it as best I could, using ONLY paper!! I hope he appreciates my ‘interpretation’, and that it hangs proudly up on his wall. If anybody fancies giving me their favourite album cover to create, then get in touch! (size approx. 25x25cm).

recent things…bird & flower collage

Recently I have found myself using a lot more pinks, yellows and purples – creating a very girly colour palette. Combining this with delicate imagery such as flower arrangements and kissing birds has created a real feminine feel. Perhaps it is the influence of Valentine’s Day last month and that spring is in the air!

It has been a while…have been busy with a job change! In-between this I have been creating some collages for sale at the fabulous Art of Framing shop in Nantwich. A big thank you to Mark and Dan for this. A great gateway for me to get my work out there. So lovely to see it professionally framed.
